Grid in the background

Would be nice if there existed a background grid of one font-unit with thicker gridlines every tenth unit, which can be optionally shown or hidden.

There is a one unit grid. You only see it, if you zoom in a bit. And you have to set the font grid to "1" in the the font info.

Can you explain the benefits from the thicker lines (every ten units).
